Building HOPE, one nail at a time

If you’ve been following the message since it’s inception then you are fully aware that we had a goal of getting a building by February 25(yesterday)……well, we still haven’t gotten our own building but in being prayerful and asking for guidance I had a vision to turn an out building at the daycare into a temporary home for Christopher’s message and with the hands and heart of my mom we got in there and she held boards and I cut and nailed each one!!!I think we could build a tiny house :) in essence we just did!!Now we had to have help getting some things done that I am not versed in,  but it happened!!!There are still some things that need to be done….but I kept remembering “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6)And so I did and was able to have a gathering yesterday of some of our family and a few friends to show them just what all Christopher’s Message has been doin this past year and plans for this year…..Christopher’s Message is so much more than a Tshirt or a slogan…..we actually put in work to get awareness out in hopes of prevention!!Suicide is still not widely talked about and we have to stop tip toeing around the topic…..do I still get choked up when talking about it??yes…..but that’s ok…..it means I love someone enough to have those conversations with complete strangers or people I even know, to help save lives!!!It means I’m taking classes to learn how to do things to help other people……it means I’m training people to help others or be more proficient in their life…..whatever GOD calls me to do, I’m there!!Now, I’m no carpenter but look……I took 96 year old wood wall planks that I had saved from the daycare and turned it into walls for the message!!!I had a vision and GOD made sure I put it into action!!!I was tired, but God infused me with energy!!!I know he was also working through my mama, cause she stayed right there beside me until every nail was in!!So for now, we have a space to call ours…A place we can host the youth that will be just for them…..a place we can have our meetings and not have to worry about disturbing anyone else!!!We have a “hub” and it feels good to have everything in one place!!

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58
